Quote of the Year: Ezra Klein is a Journalist but protected by what?
This is a typical Liberal Progressive Democrat. On one side of your mouth say that the Constitution means nothing and then the other side of your mouth pretend that you are a Constitutionally protected journalist.
I can't believe he would say something like this but overall it doesn't surprise me.
Just ask people like him if they like Shakespeare or old Muslim writings. Those they love but the Constitution they can't stand!

Anthony Weiner likes entitlement programs that get bigger and bigger
I try to listen to both sides of the political spectrum to see what the other side is talking about and to strengthen my beliefs and to also get news that the conservative side won't say. Rush won't play other talk show hosts. Roger Hedgecock won't play long clips of Sarah Palin and so on. So I was listening to the Dec. 22nd audio podcast of MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann (he had a fill in host and I can never remember his name) when I heard an interview with Anthony Weiner the Democrat Representative from New York's 9th district, talking about the 9/11 compensation bill recently passed in the lame duck session of Congress. He had the most amazing quote the I had to go back and play it again to make sure I heard it right. The funniest thing about these people on MSNBC is that their guests say the craziest things and they get away with it! No challenges.
Anyway, Weiner said this:
"But unfortunately the tragic truth is, this is the worse type of entitlement program in that the group is getting smaller and smaller everyday because people are getting sick and dying." -Anthony Weiner (Democrat Representative NY district 9) on December 22nd 2010 Countdown with Keith Olbermann MSNBC audio podcast 32 minutes 40 seconds.
Now I don't know what makes a person think this way. Liberalism is truly a mental disorder. (Thank you Michael Savage) So according to Weiner, the best kind of entitlement program is one that gets bigger and bigger. How does that work? He's pleased with Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and the list goes on. He's pleased with these entitlement programs precisely because they get bigger and bigger!
This truly has some sad implications. That means that what conservatives want, ie lower numbers in the welfare rolls, higher employment, more accessible health care with competition and less government regulation, those are all things that would shrink entitlement program numbers. Therefore Anthony Weiner would be against that. Wow.
Who is really interested in slavery? Who really wants to keep people a slave to the government?
Are you against ballooning entitlement programs?
What did you think about the 9/11 compensation bill?

Don't Ask Don't Tell...But no Courts Martial!
Now that the "DADT" has been voted in, I have a couple questions for all of the short sighted Obama supporters out there:
1. When the first investigation and court martial of a Gay Soldier comes for shooting civilians, are you going to protest that it was ok for him to do that because he's GAY?
2. An Afghan plain is dotted with shepherds and their sheep. If they see the gay soldiers they will go and tell the Taliban. The Gay soldier shoots them. Will that be on the front page of the NY Times?
3. Perhaps the Gay soldier is more sensitive to those shepherds and their sheep so he won't shoot them. And the Taliban won't shoot him because they are so happy that there are finally openly serving Gays in Afghanistan. Right?
4. If we are supposed to be so sensitive and accommodating to Muslims, what do you think they are thinking now in their caves. "We've WON!" is what they are thinking. "These Americans only care about sexual preference, not about beating us!"
5. In the middle of a war Mr. Obama? Repealing this in the middle of a war? Come on now. Do you really think that is going to help the situation over there? Is it going to help win the war?
Even if you aren't a short sighted Obama voter, please give me your thoughts.

Reasonable Religious Accommodations
Over at IOTW (I own the world) last night there was an article from the Daily Mail about a Chicago school. First of all, how come we have to go to British newspapers to learn about this stuff.
Anyway, the article talked about how a Muslim woman wanted time off to go to Mecca. The school denied her time off and she then quit and then with help, sued the school for discrimination. The quote used in the comic above is from the article on IOTW:
The government asked the court to order the school district to adopt policies that reasonably accommodate its employees’ religious practices and beliefs, and to reinstate Khan with back pay and also pay her compensatory damages.REASONABLY ACCOMMODATE HER RELIGIOUS PRACTICES and BELIEFS? Hence the comic. If they are going to reasonably accommodate her practices... then they'll reasonably accommodate my practices of a manger at Christmas and a cross at Easter, right?
I think not.

2010_12_07 If unemployment benefits are good for the economy..., originally uploaded by SlimeballComics.
If unemployment benefits are good for the economy... why don't we have 100% unemployment. Then our economy would be awesome!? Right Biden? Right Pelosi!?
